Spring Vibes
Life lately, a case of the Spring Break shoppies + the best of my recent outfits.
Hello, hello!
I’m coming to you live from my kids Winter Break. Where the mounds of snow have finally melted and we can see the grass again!!! I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to feel the weather warm above 50 degrees. My outdoor walks have resumed and it’s truly insane how much they help my mental health (you can read more about ways I take care of myself here.)
It actually has been really nice to be home for break. The pace of our days is insanely slower which is a refreshing change from the pace of school weeks. We’ve never gone this long without traveling, but life has changed: my oldest son plays club soccer and basketball. His schedule is nonstop (which he loves). I’m still adjusting to the commitment that means for our family calendar, and purposefully didn’t add anything else into the mix. I wouldn’t change the Sports Mom Era for anything (it’s a surreal feeling to watch your little baby excel in sports), it’s just unusual for us to be home so much.
That said, next month we head to San Diego for a full week with our family. It’s pretty amazing having family in Southern California, and we make a point to get out there to see them every 2-3 years. My husband’s grandmother is 95 (!!) and we are anxious to see her since she can no longer travel to us. We have several days planned with my husband’s aunts, grandma and their families and then two full days planned for Disneyland. My husband and I have been together for 20 years so his extended family has very much become my own, and these are some of my favorite people to be with (my kids too - they love their great aunts and uncles). That excitement to see them only adds to the anticipation of our trip!
I keep waiting for the boys to be over going to Disney (we’ve been 2 times since late 2023) but they are still begging us to go at any chance. We’ve been to Disneyland before, but we did not do Adventureland so everyone is looking forward to that as our youngest is absolutely obsessed with Cars. He was just a baby the last time we went so now that he’s three and half, Disney is gonna blow his mind.
So our upcoming Spring Break is a mix of family time, daily walks (we always do morning walks with Chris’ aunt), family dinners, and Disney chaos. I don’t really need much at all by way of new clothes, since all those activities fit very nicely into my existing wardrobe. But of course there are still a few new things here and there that I’m loving.
This is the vibe:
Things I ordered: I ordered these new yellow drawstring pants from the Gap. And I also ordered this orange crew from Jamie Haller. I haven’t tried any of her fleece yet and I’m very particular on how my crewnecks fit so hoping it will work. I went with a size large because I don't want it to be at all shrunken. I even checked other sites to review the fit and it seems like it’s shrunken so fingers crossed sizing up works.
Things I’m thinking about: I’ve got my eye on this set: top + shorts by Faithfull. I already have the azul blue version and it’s so good. Leset just dropped new sweatpants that look insanely comfortable, and would look so good dressed up with my new blue button down and some leather thongs. I’m always on the lookout for great sunhat and I’m loving this one as featured on This Oak House. I’ve been eyeing these new Salomon’s to balance out my all black version and I can’t stop using my yellow silk bag so that’s still in the mix too.
Things I already have: I also have already been combing through my existing outfit photos to identify outfits I’ve already worn that I want to make sure I bring on the trip. This is such an easy exercise to do prior to shopping for anything, so that you make sure you buying with purpose and intent - not just getting swept up in the excitement of new arrivals. Since these looks are relatively muted for me, I’m on the right path by adding a little color with my new pieces.
Recent Projects Recap:
There’s a few things I’ve done recently that I wanted to make sure you have a chance to check out! I was recently on my first podcast: Dirty Laundry with Ollie. This was a rare opportunity for me to explain more about my background and why I do what I do. It was an incredible convo and I’m very proud of how it turned out! Ollie is incredible, she has the coolest energy and I really have enjoyed getting to know her better through this process.
I also shared on Notes, and I’m currently working on an entire post about, but my Homeworthy episode went live on Youtube last month! The making of this episode was such a labor of love and I’m so thrilled we did it. It is so amazing to have the house captured in such a beautiful way to share, save and look back on. I give away a lot of our sources throughout the video so it’s definitely worth a watch!
And lastly, I’m working on a big project that I shared a tiny bit about on IG that I want to make sure you didn’t miss!
This Spring I’ll be launching an outfit formula guide with 20 outfit formulas to use for your everyday life. We just wrapped the shoot a week ago, and now we are going into production on the actual building of the guide. I’m very excited as I’m working with a creative team that I really admire and respect. This will be an educational tool that you can leverage to take the decision fatigue out of getting dressed.
Recent outfits I’m loving:
OK and lastly here are some recent outfits of mine that I’ve been loving. I’ve really been gentle with myself on putting together outfit content while I’m simultaneously working on the outfit guide, running normal content for Instagram and Substack, and managing my kids busy schedule. Something had to give, so I’ve been relying on my uniform more than usual lately.

OK gang! That’s it for now!
I’m working on a a post pipeline that includes a full house tour and our trip intinterary from last summer in Portugal. Many of you have messaged me that Portugal is on your vacation list and could I share more (ofc I can!).
Talk soon xx
Kate

Would love to hear your tips and fun things you’ll do with kiddos in Cali and Disneyland, when the time comes.
Love the Faithfull set you picked 🤍 Curious how you think about sets like this — would you keep it for beach/vacation only, or wear it for school pickup, sports drop-offs, etc.?
