My birthday month is here and the vibes are VIBING!!
My two trips are just around the corner and the World Cup is about to kick off. It’s officially summer and we are all ready for more relaxed days (aka we survived May). We have lots of fun summer plans but I did resist the urge to put the boys in nonstop activities (even though I will be in my third trimester with baby #4). Instead I’m hoping to slow us all down to enjoy these last three months as a family of five.
My birthday plans:
My birthday is the second week in June and I love having a summer birthday. Last year I turned 40 and we took a huge family trip (I wrote about our time in London + Paris). This year will be decidedly low key in comparison! After realizing that I’ve yet to celebrate my birthday at our new house, I’m looking forward to celebrating here for the first time.
The plan is to have a viewing party for the Mexico vs. South Africa World Cup match playing that same day at our house (more for the kids but I don’t mind one bit). I’ll likely use a lot of the same decor that I shared in this hosting post.
Mexican food and margaritas will be occurring (mine will be a mocktail but whatevs).
I’m sure I’ll also find a little time for a fresh mani, a matcha latte run and a spray tan. Honestly those three things bring me an inexplicable amount of joy (girl life).
I did a few big online shopping hauls to find a few pieces specifically for our trip to New York at the end of the month. I forgot how exhausting an ever growing bump can be to style so I feel like I’m constantly re-assessing my wardrobe to ensure things still fit. I’m hoping something in the hauls will also work for my birthday.
Maybe I’ll order something off my wish list too? I’m eyeing this basket bag, a classic English striped button-down, this lace up sweater that reminds me of cool nights at the lake, the new striped version of my favorite sun hat, and this silk head scarf.
Two outfits from this week that I’m wearing nonstop:
Summer weather is finally here. After two weeks of unseasonable cold and rain in May, I was more than ready for my shorts! I know everyone is talking about soft pants (I fully enjoyed this, this and this on the subject!) but I’m all about the soft shorts. I’ve come a long way as I used to tell myself I couldn’t “do shorts” because my legs are thick and muscular. But I have three boys, and we are active in the summer. To not wear shorts is just silly. So I forced myself to get over it.
I’ve been loving these four pairs specifically:
My OG and very much my favorite pair of shorts: the little lace short.
These 6 inch inseam linen shorts from Gap.
The new replacement to my athleisure flouncy shorts: the linen short from Spanx.
The J.Crew linen shorts that coordinate with my favorite button-down.

18 Things I’ve Recently Purchased that I Can't Shut Up About:
I get a lot of product sent to me. I buy a lot of product myself (shopping is quite literally my job). But lately there has been an abnormal success rate in the products I'm buying or testing that a big round up of everything I’m ordering, keeping and loving felt necessary:
The best smelling hand soap I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned all the fancy ones). Use code KATELOWMAN20 for 20% off your order!
The natural deodorant that actually works. Use code KATELOWMAN20 for 20% off your order!
New lip glosses that look like I’m wearing lipstick but actually hydrate (I have watermelon + mango).
The western bag I’m planning to wear all summer long. You’ll want to sign up for early access here because Natalie Borton Designs is about to have a huge Archive and Sample sale online.
The linen coordinated set that I’m wearing so much (top + shorts) that I just ordered it in two more colors (flax and green).
The sandals that blew up my DMs.
Simple black flip flops that make every outfit feel “cool girl”.
The summer bag that all my friends are asking me about.
New bathing suits that feel they were made for a real woman’s body: this, this and this.
Linen black shorts that I’ve been wearing on my morning early morning matcha runs with a simple white tee.
Just restocked my full skincare routine (cleanser, honey milk + moisturizer).
The sunglasses I’m getting nonstop compliments on.
The new resin coffee table (i.e. lightweight and easy to move out of inclement weather) we bought for our outdoor living space.
The lipstick everyone is asking me about in the comment section of my reels.
The most comfortable (and a little bit spicy!) summer pajamas (tank + boxers).
The summer bra I’m wearing peaking out from under my oversized button-downs.
The linen button down that was my most popular link of May (I got the French blue for NYC as I already own white). Also, I think I need the coordinating shorts (oops).
My upcoming travel prompted me to finally get this toiletry set I’ve been debating for over a year (this clear bag, toiletry capsules, and spatula).

Behind the Scenes of the New Pregnancy Outfit Guide:
It’s been a gorgeous 48 hours around my house as we shot the next outfit guide (you can buy the first one here). This new guide is focusing on eight tried and true outfit formulas for when you are pregnant/postpartum. Being pregnant is such a vulnerable time for so many women that I wanted to create something to help make getting dressed easier for that stage of life. Since this is my fourth pregnancy, I definitely have lots of strong opinions about which outfit formulas work, and which don’t! Much more to come but getting the photoshoot wrapped is always a big milestone!

LFGGGGG June! I’m ready for you!
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend xx
